A few months ago Nike hosted a marathon in San Francisco that a friend of mine ran. The tag line was "Run Like A Girl." I found it inspiring in a funny way. I wondered, 'what does it mean to "run like a girl"'? We all know that derogatory saying "throw like a girl", meaning, a weak, short throw. But "run like a girl"? What does that mean?
For me, it means endurance. It means stamina. It means being an athlete on our own terms as women (or girls) and all the strength and beauty that implies.
So, Run Like A Girl. And all that implies. :)
